Come and enjoy a small part of our paradise at Vleidam Guest Farm, deep in the heart of the Swartland. This guesthouse in Koringberg is the breakaway place you’ve been searching for! It has panoramic views of the surrounding farming fields and provides peaceful, rural accommodation for the whole family.
The accommodation consists of 4 historic self-catering cottages built in the 1920s. All four of the cottages are still on their original foundations.
Cottage 2 – Sleeps 5 people
This cottage has two spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped and spacious kitchen with braai-facilities inside the kitchen, and a living room with a TV (Full DStv included). The main bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath. This bedroom now also has an aircon, which cools down the whole cottage during the hot Summer days and nights! The second bedroom has a double bed with a single bed. There is a second bathroom with a shower. There is a fan and a heater in each room, a “stoep-area” outside, a garden, a swimming pool and outside braai facilities.
Vleidam also offers agricultural tours and we provide soaps and toiletries in each bathroom as well as towels and bed-linen for each guest. On arrival, the guests get freshly baked bread, rusks, butter, jam, milk, coffee, tea, and sugar. The cottages are wheelchair/disabled friendly, family-friendly and we offer off-street and secure parking on the farm.
Firewood is available for purchase at the farm, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
Swimming facilities are also available in the Summer season
Interaction with guests
The owners of Vleidam Guest Farm, John and Nikki Loxton, frequently interact with the guests on the farm. Nikki bakes farm bread for the guests and John tells the guests about the history of the farm and the district. They also take the guests for rides on the farm and to see the farm animals with their “plaas bakkie”. Nikki also shows the kids how to feed the little lambs and the children can collect the chicken’s eggs in the morning.
Other things to note
You may also want to explore the nearby towns of Moorreesburg, Piketberg, Koringberg, Porterville, Langebaan, Velddrif, Riebeek-Kasteel or Misverstand dam where you can swim, ski, canoe or boat. These touristy towns have plenty of fabulous restaurants, farm-stalls as well as wine farms for you to enjoy, all less than 10 minutes away! Otherwise, enjoy an evening in around the braai area on your personal front lawn where kids can play while watching the sunset over the farming meadows.
PLEASE NOTE: We have 1 Antilop highchair and 1 baby cot, which will be available by request and depending on availability.
